Even though I am yet to leave for my next travelling adventure I am already becoming a tourist in London and yesterday I went to the Imperial War Museum which by far is one of the best around. The information, layout, and sheer volume of things to look at was amazing. If you're in town- do it! The Holocaust exhibition is heart wrenching as you hear from people who suffered through the atrocities and watch a lot of video footage. Allocate at least 3 hours to the museum there if not more, I didn't have time to go through one whole level and I was there for 3 hours! One of the most interesting parts (for me anyway) was the recruitment propaganda used to garner support and gather more troops. They even included an Australia poster in the exhibit!

Paris, Je t'aime
You will have to pardon the scenery in this photo as my backdrop was not ideal but you work with what you have right! I wanted to show off the skirt I wore for New Years Eve- I LOVE it! It does remind me slightly of my mum wearing pleated skirts in the 80's but I think I can bypass those thoughts with glittery goodness! I'm also wearing an ASOS body suit (my first) and loved the sweetheart mesh shape which added a little more va va voom to my outfit.

I'm crushing on...
I am absolutely in love with this Swarovski necklace. For months I have seen women wearing statement necklaces on beautiful collared shirts and blouses and I think I may have just found mine!

Paris for New Years Eve
I flew in to Paris on December 30th and spent the day touring the city, mainly the Musee D'Orsay as it was quite blistery outside but my walk along the Seine was magnificent. I love the buildings in Paris, they're romantic and gothic at the same time and filled with so much history that I never believe I'll be able to understand it all. My friends came in very late that evening and New Years Eve was filled with much laughter and catching up as we spent our Christmas holidays separately. We found a delightful restaurant near our hotel and gorged ourselves on french delicacies and creme brulee! This year though, Sarkozy and the Paris government thought it best not to have fireworks due to the economic recession hitting much of Europe. So while the rest of the world lit up like a Christmas tree we few gathered in the Tulleries Gardens in Paris and watched the Eiffel Tower twinkle in the night, still a beautiful sight.

Another year...
Summer on Primrose Hill |
Over the past 2 days I think all I have read about is New Years resolutions and recaps on 2011. I don't really believe in New Year resolutions because I find, for me anyway, they seem to add an unwanted pressure and make the resolution seem like a chore which defeats the whole purpose of wishing someone a 'Happy New Year' when the clock strikes 12! Does anyone else feel like that? So I won't make any resolutions just perhaps a hope for particular things to happen this year. One of which includes making myself get on a one way plane to Australia. Yes, it actually is that difficult. I shall be leaving my new adopted homeland of England in 11 days time to officially become a traveller again and although one of the greatest pleasures and luxuries in life is travelling, having my work visa expire for the UK is breaking my heart. I am not looking forward to packing all my belongings in to boxes and handing over my room keys to another but becoming a traveller again is something I do best. World here I come!

Paris... Oui Oui
Tomorrow morning I am waving a fond farewell to my parents as I head off to Paris for New Years Eve with a group of friends. It will be bitter sweet since I will not see my parents again for at least 6 months so I'm sure there will be tears on their behalf and lots of hugging at the airport. I wasn't able to get as much time off work as I hoped in the past 2 months so have only seen them for about 2 weeks in total. Then it is back to the travellers life for me... more on that later. In the meantime I am looking forward to crepes and macaroons, lemon citron tarts and walks beside the Seine, the flea markets and catching up with my old housemate!
