No 5

A couple of years ago I read a biography on Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel and absolutely loved her fascinating life.  It wasn't where or when my obsession began but it certainly compounded it!  As I have mentioned before I'm a bit of a marketing and brand analysis buff so naturally there was plenty of that in her life story.  She lived in a different time and yet somehow her brand is still influential today.

Chanel and Marilyn

I'm such a marketing/ brand analysis buff and when this video from Chanel was released this week I was fascinated.  Even in Marilyn's day brand association was paramount.

What's on in: NYC

I'm sure you've heard the new Great Gatsby is coming out in 2013 and in the lead up to Christmas, the films production designer Catherine Martin is designing a Christmas tree for The Plaza Hotel in New York City.  To say I would do pretty much anything to be there for the unveiling is an understatement.  If you live in NYC you can go see it at the "Fitzgerald Tea for The Ages" on November 26th.  Totally jealous I'm not a New Yorker right now!

I heard this on the radio the other day and thought it was hilarious and such a clever way to raise awareness.

Happy Friday!

"What is a friend?  A single soul dwelling in two bodies."

I just finished a Skype conversation with my best friend who lives in London still.  We have known each other for over 13 years and I don't know what I would do with out her!  High school would never have been as bearable without her and university wouldn't not have been as fun.  We have been through break ups and make ups, drowned our sorrows on nights out on the town and even lived in London together.  Even though we're currently thousands of miles apart and co ordinating Skype sessions can be difficult with the time difference I know with her things will never change and she will always be there.  I miss her so much!
