A little morning inspiration

As I've been staying with friends while I look for a new house share I have had the pleasure of staying in a multitude of rooms and none have been quite so lovely to wake up to in the morning as this one.   A friend of mine is currently at The Isle of Wight festival and offered me her room while she was away.  So lovely! Every morning I wake up to an array of colours painted by masters and quirky drawings collected throughout her travels.  I just love it!  I tend to send a post card home to my parents when I go abroad but my friend has collected post cards from around the world, from museums and tourist shops to collate on her wall.  So far my favourites have been from Degas, Matisse, Renior and Van Gough... yeah you can really tell what style of art I like can't you?

Little lovelies

Recently I made a short trip to my absolute favourite shoe shop in the world.  You would think it was Miu Miu, Manolo Blahnik or Louboutin but alas it is one of the smallest shops I have walked in to and is in a little arcade off the Vittorio Emmanuelle in Milan- Lolita Milano.  I have purchased countess ballet flats from them in butter soft leathers and non leathers too that always fit my wide feet perfectly.  My last visit was my third in 2 years and not because the shoes dont last but because I am truly addicted to them!  I bought 2 silver pairs alone on my last visit and a pair of gold and silver on the visit before.  If you ever tried these shoes on you would know exactly why I spend so much money there!

I was completely in love on my last visit with the glitter ballet flats, I had to have them... in two colours!  I turn in to a creature I don't recognise when I walk in to Lolita and a frenzy occurs as I try shoe after shoe and pick out just about every colour under the sun.

She's here!!

It has been just over 10 days since I moved out of the house I called home for the past 9 months and in the mean time I have been living with a friend as her housemates are on holiday.  Come Monday next week I will have no home though!  Scary thought!  The only thing that is making me not think about my impending bed on the streets is the fact that my best friend from Australia moved to London 3 days ago!!!  I can not describe how incredible excited I am.  While at the airport waiting I actually got a little teary as I saw a little girl run up to her grand father when he exited immigration, and the thought crossed my mind that I might have to run up to my best friend!  It has been 18 months since I properly spent time with her (excluding the 7 days I spent in Melbourne in April for my grandmothers funeral) and to celebrate we jetted off to Spain for a few days.

Leaving the dreary London weather behind we touched down in Seville and have been exploring the city and indulging in tapas, sangria and gelati.  It's absolutely heavenly!  The feeling of being on holidays is like none other, exploring new cities and wandering little lanes and plaza's.  However, not speaking a work of Spanish has been a challenge so far and we have relented to the fact that we are going to order something on the menu that is completely foreign to us but, it all comes with travelling right?
